What is EQUAL?
EQUAL is a part of European Union's strategy having on purpose creation of new and better work places and trying to make sure that nobody will be omitted. As a Unity Initiative, fund from European Social Funds, EQUAL is a platform which enables searching and education within the confines of European Employment Strategy and Social Integration Process. EQUAL differs from other EFS programs in the way that makes EQUAL like a lab allowing on working on possibilities of fighting with discrimination and inequality on labor market. EQUAL provides examples of best practices in range of innovatory notions, pushing on active cooperation with Partner Countries and providing application of fairest solutions on the whole EU territory.
In the other EU Countries EQUAL exists since 2000 but in Poland it is from 2004. On accustoming of EQUAL in Poland there are special funds like 133,99 mln euros from EU and 44,64 mln from polish national budget.
Commission Message to Member Countries establishing directions for accustoming EQUAL defines six principles:
- thematic approach
- develop for partnership
- engagement of discriminate groups
- transnational cooperation
- innovatory
- adaptation of result for main stream of politics
EQUAL's principles mirrors main purposes integrate strategy for fighting with discrimination and inequality which suffering those who are seeking a job on labor market and persons who are already on it.
EQUAL in Poland includes five themes:
Theme A. simplification of entering on labor market and return on it for those who have problem with integration, is a main purpose to promote open labor market for everybody
Theme D. reinforcement of national economy (III zone), particularly services for local societies especially bringing up quality of work places
Theme F. advancement of company abilities fitting them and employees for economical changes and advancement of information possibilities and other innovative technologies
Theme G . reconciliation of home and job duties and secondary integration of man and woman who has left the labor market and helping them to return on it
Theme I. supporting social and professional integration for persons who are from abroad and who trying to get a refugee status
